Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

Anyone running a 17T front and 39T sprocket set up? How does this effect rpm's? Thinking that a larger rear sprocket might take up chain length....

Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

There are no axle adjusters, hence the need for a chain tensioner. If I remove one link the chain will be too short, and I don't want to use a half link. Master link clip is backwards in photo. That was only for mock up. Rocker clutch, hmmm.....

Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

After 2 plus years, it runs, rides and is basically finished. I kept up the thread a little better on ChopCult. As expected ther are little issues every time I ride it. Slight oil leak from tach plug, fixed with new o-ring and yamabond. Biggest issue is that upper part of chain is slapping...

    Resurrecting a battery

Yes, trade it in as your core deposit on a new one. Don't buy those cheap shit wet cell batteries. Buy a good Yuasa AGM.

    spoke sources

Buchannon's makes the best spokes in the world, for almost anything with wire wheels. Expect to pay top buck for top quality. I thought that the spokes I used from MikesXS were low quality. Not very bright finish, weak threads and nipples. Make sure your nipple wrench fits really tight or...

Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

Finalized the hydraulic front brake master cylinder mounting. Looks to be about a 1/2' of travel. Hoping that is enough to pump that 4 piston Brembo. Also finished the kickstand spring and mount. Wow it actually works! Seriously about 3 hours into making a kckstand. Never under estimate...

Ummmm..... My very different build thread

Really radical in a good way! But, that front end doesn't look right. It just doesn't flow. I think you should fab one of those curvy type springer/girder hybrid forks. And do a bicycle style steering stem/handlebar rig. Mag wheels, instead of spokes, with perimeter brakes. just my $.02...

Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

Spent a bunch of time working out the right foot brake set up. Still have to fab and weld a bracket for the master cylinder. Basically though it is done. Like the way it looks and works too. Made a coil bracket, tucked in behind carbs. Made a kickstand tab. Stole a kickstand from an xs400...

    Wrinkle painted engine side covers

I did EXACTLY the same thing, but baked mine on top of my kerosene heater. Talk about stinky! I even did the JB weld. Mine is a little less visible. Good product. I bought mine at NAPA

Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

THANKS scabber for your input. I am a little worried about that worm gear. I do have a backup plan though, and there is always the Blacksmith billy mod. That cast iron clutch pedal is heavy:shrug: As for the pipes, I think I will cut them as you suggested. I am leaning more towards...

Broken Sprockets, Voodoo and Burnt rubber

I made my left foot controls today. Basically done! Kids made a snowman. hard to choose between snowboarding today and fab'n on the bike. left side profile looking good. I think I am going to bend the pipes down to follow the contours of the engine side covers

    Recommendations on replacement pistons?

BelRay makes an assembly lube paste, designed to stay right where you brush it on. Just don't use TOO much. I have used it on Evo (HD) engines with good results. Proper break in, and heat cycling are sooooo important.
