Harley Wheels on an XS650 Question

You will want a 530 rear sprocket....my offset sprocket are all 530..(although i have made some 520's) the standard for the harley and xs65 is 530.. Sprocket Specialties in California makes some fine rear sprockets in just about and tooth size...(i would recomend a 34t or 35t max with my 18t...

Hey!! we got a first timer over here: my first build

The easy way is to take a straight edge (like a long ruler or level) and lay it flat on the front sprocket Then with your rear tire aligned where you want it measure the differance between the straight edge and the outside of the sprocket (on the rear wheel) (basically you are pretending...

Hey!! we got a first timer over here: my first build

Gotcha, that makes sence, FYI I also build custome offsets, my standard is .750 (3/4") but i have done up to 2 5/8 offset for a 250mm tire If you just need a sprocket, it is $150.00 and if it is differant than .750 it takes about 4-5 weeks (1 day to build the rest of the time waiting...

    custom wheels

btw if it where me, I would keep the wheels you have (R6 I think you said) and stick to your original idea. You can with a little effort make them work and make them work well (and end up with a cool bike that wouldnt get lost in the parking lot (because all you need to look for is the croud...

    custom wheels

If you are really conserned about keeping the wheel in the center, another way to do that is to off set the Motor by 1/4 in. (you could use 1/4 in spacers in the top and rear motor mounts and do a little grinding on the case at the front and bottom motor mounts) not that hard if you have the...

    custom wheels

I have had customers purchased my kit to be installed on stock frames with modified swingarms, however I dont have any pics and I havent seen exsactly what was required (I CAN tell you none of them ever call me back and said it didnt work) In looking at the stock frame (I just looked at a...

    custom wheels

Well, if you are talking a stock swingarm, then 160mm (and it would be tight) and that would be with a .250 (1/4") offset sprocket If you are talking custom Hardtail section or wider swing arm you could go to 200mm and that would be with a .750 (3/4") offset (but you you need to make heavy...

Also btw... if you ran a 160mm i would recoment a .250 offset sprocket just to have the chain clear the tire a bit... (still $150.00 for the sprocket and you wouldnt need to use my offset kit, the sprocket and chain would have no problem fitting under the cover)

    custom wheels

Many of the bike on my website have Hardtail sections welded to a stock frame (so from the seat post forward it is the original xs650 frame) If you are planning on running your stock swingarm then the max you can go is about 150 (maybe 160 but the chain might rub the tire a bit) So no...

    was it worth 100$ ?

Ignore my comments about the swingarm, I was confusing your project with another, if your running a hardtail, then the bike in the above pics IS VERY comparible btw the bike in the above pic was a sprocket only customer (he did his owm mods to the side cover and added a hydrolic clutch...very...
