does a spring seat make a rigid comfortable?

I helped a friend to a leaf sping solo saddle on an rigid cb750. 6 inches total travel looks a little funky with the seat way up in the air when he's not on it but after 24 years of riding it with various rigid seats he likes it. If your seat feels wobbly or squishy side to side you need to...

How many people use a Frame Jig for their hardtail?

Yeah you don't needa fancy jig and can make your own or you can spend more time and effort doing without. However you go about it is fine just make sure that your wheels line up in all planes and you trust your life on your welds. I used to do assembly line welding many years ago and jigs are...

    21" front rim

Somtimes I'v reused the rim locks with the new tire like my old brit bikes other times I use JB weld and paint. Most peaple really will not notice and if they do tell them they are extra valve stem holes or for lightning the wheel.

    21" front rim

If the rim came off a drum brake front end and you are putting it on a disc brake hub you may have a problem with the angle of the spoke holes in the rim.

A friend has a leaf spring set up on his old CB 750 chop. It rides a lot better than the usual coil spring or hairpring set ups that most usebut it does twist a little side to side on corners. He used leaf springs off snowmoble skisas they are thinner and its easier to add leafs for adjustment...

Backroader's 1978 XS Special - "For your eyes only"

Hi backroader your bike should be old enough to plate as an antique in sask. that brings the plates and insurance down to about 114 dollars but then you add on extra insurance to cover the cost of the bike. still cheap by comparison.

    Shift linage problems - help

It looks like your pivot to your linkage is longer on your shifter than on your engine, this is quite possably what is causing the problem as well as they are both on a different part of the arc.

    Rear Wheel Stuck

If it will not move at all even a little I would check the brakes. Try backing the adjustment off and tap the backing plate and see if it helps.

    Powder Coating VS Heat Retention

Just my two cents worth I'v used high temp wrinkle black on engines and found that my oil temp stayed the same also head temp stayed the same. I was told it was because the texture finish gave more surface area, I think it really dosn't make a bunch of difference unless you get carried away. By...
