    Buddyseat attachment on Heritage frame

Hello Marty, Was that a serious offer to cut the pieces of frame out? In that case I would accept it greatfully!! Of course I pay for the postal costs to The Netherlands. (PayPal?) Kind regards, Hein

    Buddyseat attachment on Heritage frame

The locking studs for the buddy seat on the frame of my Heritage are flexed off. I like to replace the original buddy seat back on the bike. Could somebody make a picture of the original frame attachment of the buddy of a Heritage? Thanks!!! Hein

    XS650 clutch

You can also try to free the clutch by pulling in the clutch handle (in neutral!) and hit the kickstarter.

    XS650 clutch

The ball can not fall into the gear box. Is the worm placed in the right position, so that the clutch cable pulls under the right angle? 90 degrees?

    XS650 clutch

You could'nt pull the second shaft out? That's strange! Assuming the ball on the clutch side is there, the only thing I can think of, is that the ball in the worm gear is gone. Did you check that? Without the help of the worm gear it is not possible to engage the clutch. If you can wine the...

    XS650 clutch

Hello Nils, When your XS has a 2-piece rod, than there are 3 balls: 1 in the worm gear (this one can fall out sometimes), 1 between the 2 rods and 1 at the clutch side. It is not possible for a ball to fall into the gearbox. Dit you replace the worm in the right position? Regards, Hein

Hello Olly, Is the left hand plug wet (petrol) or oily? Do you see blue smoke coming out of the left hand exhaust?

    Excessive vibration while riding

Hi Cmills, An important question: is this your first XS650? You should know that all XS650 motorcycles vibrate. I had four XS650 bikes and still have one. Three of them were "moderate" shakers and one was a terrible vibrator. I have tried everything to improve the behaviour, but nothing...

    Anybody tried this oil cooler??

http://www.xs650.biz/p/28/2170/mo74-cg|22=3/%2315-6504-oil-filter-cooler-kit-heiden-tuning-design I think it is the well known Heiden Tuning oil filter. (or maybe a copy?) I use it on all my XS bikes and it is great! Hein

    '83 SE not starting

Remove the plugs and connect them to the plug leads. Ground the plugs and crank with the elektrical starter. If you see sparks, the TCI is probably O.K. Diaphragms dont break 2 at a time! With one bad diaphragm you still are able to ride. I suspect the gas flow to te carbs, but I assume...

heiden/mikesxs 750 big bore kit base gasket type

Sorry Hooser, but that's not true:wtf: To retard the cam 10 deg. the original base gasket should have been about 7 mm thick! (one tooth of the cam sprocket = 7.7 mm = 10,6 deg.) The gasket is only 0.7 mm thick = 1 deg. Hein

    Cam/Crank chain timing riddle

The headgasket is not blown, only the headbolts are too loose. And when you lose a few drops of oil, that does'nt mean that the compression is effected. When you torque the head, it should best be done in minimal 3 rounds with increasing torque. The headgasket is compressed during the...

    Cam/Crank chain timing riddle

Sorry, wrong thinking!! When the pin is 1 mm out and still moves during idling, the chain is indeed a little too long. The right procedure is still: tighten until the pin still moves a few tenth of a mm. Hein

    Cam/Crank chain timing riddle

:thumbsup:And the weather is still fine? Hein P.S. 1 mm out is a bit too loose. Turn it in flush with the back of the tensioner, as long as the pin moves a few tenth of a mm. (method XS expert Heiden Tuning in Holland)
