Rewiring bike with fresh made harness
can I make a 3pin connector for Pamco to the e-advance, and then just ground off of the coil side somewhere else?
trying to think of clean ways to do this.
It seems ok but wasn’t sure if that ground is interrupted by the operation of the unit at all
What are option for swapping brakes on 74 TX650?
Original was pitted and seized, cheap knock off replacement was filled with problems, seals that wouldn’t hold pressure etc... spent a lot of time swapping lines, masters.... just want to move to a new direction.
I would like to avoid...
I have a few other threads, but. I’m having an issue running: intermittent cylinder dying, switches sides, fresh battery. Has Pamco, single coil (Honda), have used diff coils to rule out.
It was suggested to wire battery directly to coil to see if that works, which would indicate issue in...
Trying to dial in tune on fresh rebuild of 74 with stock bore. About 120mikes on build now.
VM34 - PJ:25. MJ:180
Air screw only .5 turn but it already doesn’t really like choke; so I didn’t try 27.5
Pamco ignition and advance - timing looks good. Single coil.
Idle ~ 1200 rpm
New plugs...
Replaced tail light with LED assembly and having issues.
Original one worked fine, was just looking nvm for brighter and tidier.
With LED, Signal on dash is flashing, whole assembly goes off if I hit the brakes. I figured this was from cheap assembly but I noticed if all is unplugged, the...
Very fresh rebuild, I’m having trouble stopping a leak from the base of the oil delivery pipe. It is definitely between the case and copper washer.
this hole was recently repaired with an insert. Previously the threads tore out when the pipe was removed.
I used a fresh correct metric copper...
What is this plug that was under the right side crank bearing, on the bottom near the sump?
Cases were powder coated and I think it was probably a plug to block off the hole left in?
Are these left open normally?
Can I leave the cam chain tensioner in top half to split cases?
It’s newer (currently replacing bad bottom end) so condition of tensioner fine. I stupidly reused the star screws before now they want to strip coming out and I don’t want to deal with them if I don’t have to.
these screws...
On 74 front end. Have chased never ending front brake issues. Replaced all front brake components. Multiple MCs, SS line, caliper from Mikes.... only the union line from caliper is original.
I think this caliper is junk is my current issue.
Any interesting upgrade solutions that let me keep...
I have one of these dual output coils that is only 2 years old and has very few hours on it.
Have pamco electronic ignition and advance.
Parked bike for winter, wouldn’t start in spring, ran fine in the fall.
Battery is charged, tried second good battery as well, no spark.
Tested coil with...
Rebuilt 74 bike was running great, cam chain tensioner loosened, timing got whacked out and jumped a tooth while trying to start. Kick start only.
Got cam timing corrected, cam chain tensioned, valave clearances good. Leakdown seems to be ok on top end so don't think I hit valve....
Still...
got the fresh-rebuild with electronic ignition and new coils running great at the end of last year, put it away for winter.
2 weeks ago pull it out runs well take a 25mi ride and all was well.
Go to kick start bIke recently (kick only) and kicks back so hard I was limping, I never got it...
'74 fresh rebuild- 700cc - 150miles on fresh build. Oil was near low mark pre-ride; I checked. Runs well (now!) good leakdiwn and both cylinders match. This was new piston rings, fresh bore (heads refreshed too)
This has been a journey but now she is running quite well, took out 25 miles...
i always wondered this... and I don't think I have a problem....
Why does bike idle high when cold with choke?
I know other bikes do this, I was just trying to wrap my head around why adding more fuel causes this.
74 w/ VM-34's for the record
dual output coil from mikes with pamco.
It's the coil with wires one piece attached, can't be separated.
1 year old barely used.
Been chasing issue of cylinder set not running well, thought it was fuel but finally swapped plug wires and the issue moved to other cylinder.
I've tried...
chasing problems with bike running I believe may be battery. Runs for a few moments cold then dies, won't restart till sitting. Took me a bit to realize the battery was weak (kick only)
Kick only '74, pamco ignition, updated coils from mikes (the dual output black one). Original charging...
[/IMG] Havin. Trouble getting my rebuilt BS38's dialed in. Was rechecking float levels and noticed that one carb has a jet pressed in, believe it's part of choke circuit, but the other doesn't.
Is this normal or did it break somewhere along the lines?
If it's only choke does it really...
i had this all set but took apart to paint.
With switch on Ist position I get turn signals no dash lights. 2nd position brings dash lights but no turn signals.
I have brown/white disconnected. (That is flasher relay right?)
Any pitfalls here? It's all chocolate wires together in the 4 way...
