Since we are showing off VI Kits here's mine ( still unfinished project ) :
I added hairpin springs to mine for a little more comfort ( I am 5'7",,, 145 lbs and barely made the shocks squat )

I was trying to point out the connection spots and not really the strut design itself. I looked all over at how folks were connecting theirs for rear disk and all I could find was drum brake ( which seems much easier for setting up everything in the rear...
Here is how I connected the fender struts to mine so that the fender still floats with the swingarm utilizing the bottom shock mount bolts...

He said take apart and nothing about putting back together,,, I would hope by the time it's ready to go back together he would have picked up the right tool for the right job...
Metal Punch and a Ball Peen Hammer ( or a flat bladed screw driver and a ball peen hammer but a punch is better )... move around the top lock nut tapping it in several locations until it unscrews then do the same with the bottom one... Don't go ape on it or it will mess up the lock nuts...

How about your grounds then ??? Ground from Battery to Frame / Engine to Frame / Electronics to Frame ... Check all your ground points and make sure they are touching bare metal with no rust or paint in the way... Use a Digital multi-meter with the setting on continuity and listen for the sound...

Did your BB Ignition come with a matched coil or is it something different ??? I ask this because a unmatched coil can provide some bad juju back to the control module and let the smoke out... The Coil should be a dual output 4.5ohm primary resistance coil...
