    Carb T-connector

Thank you for the responses. I'm a bit wary on buying a new replacement given some didn't have success and the design remains unchanged. Being in Australia I would pay $45AU and wait a week so I may as well try a diy repair first or I have a spare set of parts carbs that have a better looking...

    Carb T-connector

I woke my xs up today after a 4 year sleep and found that the tee was leaking and after a lot of searching I managed to find this thread. I tried to separate the carbs but couldn't free the screws up on the plate bracket so was wondering if there was similar experience that could offer some...

    Pamco e-advancer problems

Nah I had the same problem - the copper cap allows the timing to step out and once you get that right it'll be fine.

"Thor's Hammer" Australian XS650 Bobber Build

Hey mate looking good! Can I ask who did the ceramic and zinc coating? I called a local mob to get my pipes coated (newcastle) and they wanted quite a bit for it - more than it'd cost me to get a set of ceramic coated pipes shipped from the states!!!

For Sale - XS650 bobber for sale NSW

I'm on that list :) I have a search save so that all XS650s that get listed get emailed to me and I watch any of interest. I saw yours pop up on my phone and thought it was yours but forgot to confirm. I've seen bikes of similar awesomeness sell for that and I think you've started at the right...

Shame to hear it Pete that is a nice bike and you've just got it all sorted! I ran into the fella with the red bike down in Newcastle the other week and had a chat.

    Hi all, 1st time rebuild

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221283249799?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 That's a typical example of Australian prices for motors - a non-runner for $650 in obvious need of TLC. An XS spares bloke has 2 different stock-ish motors for sale at $2k each or thereabouts...

    Bike broke question

Gee shucks thanks peanut. That's actually the first pic I've put up because I wanted to get the bike looking nice before I put up build pics but I liked the look in that pic. I made the seat pan and had a local guy cover it to my wishes and the colour wasn't quite what I was chasing but its...

    Bike broke question

Thanks Dustproof. I've not taken it down the coast yet but that'd be a nice long ride to do. I picked the bike up from the mechanic and he hadn't set the timing so we did it on the spot by ear then I rode home and it wasn't pulling as hard but I knew that I had to re-time it with my strobe when...

    Aussie build

I'm not sure in qld but with the rake job you may need to have an engineers cert to get that registered. I avoided any structural changes on my bike so there was no risk on my first build and my (naive) understanding was any structural frame mods would require engineers certification for...

I mounted the coil and fuse panel under the tank, rec reg on a fabricated mount on the front downtubes and capacitor tucked into the neck gusset.

    Bike broke question

I got word back that the pin had popped out of the advance mech unit. Simple problem with a simple fix that I could've done road side had I bothered to take tools. Fixed bike is good news though, time to put some miles on her and prove her worth!
