    Engine removal.

This is the way I did it the first time. Subsequently, I used 2 long pipe lengths and did similar to 5Twins which I prefer now. Glenn

Alternative slipping starter gear spring fix.

I just did this with a replacement spring from Yamaha with a new gear, hairpin spring and light wire coil spring. As is the hairpin slipped. After the fix I was getting 8 to 9+ on my fish scale. Just a comment on "fracturing" it is local yielding and not fracturing of the spring steel. Enough...

    Rephasing, What is it?

I agree with Steve C the reduction in vibration Results in less lost power, doesn’t make more but more, albeit small, gets to the pavement. It makes the bike more pleasant to ride for longer distances. I have a rephased 650 with no base gasket. I also correctly reindexed the cam for the...

Safety Relay and Light Checker wiring question

Hi, I just did this. I used just the SSR and not the lighting relay. A replacement relay, a 6 volt one with five tabs, i.e., you want an 87 and an 87A connection on the relay, should work too. You want the yellow PMA voltage to disconnect power to the solenoid. Six volts spec for relay is...

    Starter Relay problem

I believe I found confirmation that I can splice into any of the three yellow PMA wires. http://www.xs650.com/threads/safety-relay-yellow-wire.22578/ Glenn

How To: Replacing the Shift Rubber the Easy Way.

I use compressed air for removing and hair spray inside the grips for the new ones. The spray slides them on easy and acts as a glue when dry.

mikes 750 kit - only kicks 4 out of 5 tries

My 650 does this occasionally too. Pull the clutch in and push it though. Don't try to kick it with force or you'll do damage to yourself! Release clutch and try to kick normally and it should go through at least mine does. I'll leave it to the experts to maybe explain this phenomena ;-)
