I just did this with a replacement spring from Yamaha with a new gear, hairpin spring and light wire coil spring. As is the hairpin slipped. After the fix I was getting 8 to 9+ on my fish scale. Just a comment on "fracturing" it is local yielding and not fracturing of the spring steel. Enough...

You're welcome. There are four wires from your alternator. I believe three white and one yellow. connect to the yellow.

Used Chemicals, Dilco wheels and polisher with stuff from Caswell and many hours!!

I use compressed air for removing and hair spray inside the grips for the new ones. The spray slides them on easy and acts as a glue when dry.

BTW, I switched my three 8' long, two bulb T12 units to Hypericon no ballast LED type two years ago and they're fantastic. Instant on regardless of how cold it is in the garage!

I have my Zero Gravity battery under and mounted to the aluminum pan I made. this battery is a recent addition and required after I put in a Shindgren SH775 voltage regulator. The plastic 4" X 4" electrical box has my fuses, flasher, etc.

Yeah 5twins I do that for anything I want to last. Glad I'm not the only crazy one!

My 650 does this occasionally too. Pull the clutch in and push it though. Don't try to kick it with force or you'll do damage to yourself! Release clutch and try to kick normally and it should go through at least mine does. I'll leave it to the experts to maybe explain this phenomena ;-)
