Bingo! That's the correct way to weigh any vehicle. Block up the opposite tire so that they're level with one on the scale. Then do it the other way around. Otherwise that small angle (fore and aft) will move the relative center of gravity. Chris

If I had to guess I'd say that you've still got an exhaust leak. While your mixture can cause the backfire an exuast leak will cause it regardless of being rich or lean.

Man I couldn't tell you. I wouldn't expect a fiberglass/composite helmet to be effected by paint. The polyester resin is used for gas tanks! ABS skinned lids would be a concern. And if your padding is EPS (Styrofoam) organic solvents will destroy it (if you get any on). I sent that one off...
