I replaced my whole charging and ignition system just to be safe, didn't want to take a chance and get stranded in the middle of no where. By the way, once it gets warmer we should all go for a cruise.

So after a month of trying everything I could, from valve adjustments, to rebuilding and re jetting carbs 100 times and timing, it was the god damn ignition key that was faulty even tho I bought it brand new from TCbros! I'm a little mad but really happy at the same time that I found the issue...

I would also like to add that the timming mark starts to advance when I hit the throttle and then it jumps all over the place when I hit 3,500 rpm.

A little background first, it's a 78, banshee charging system, capasitor, pamco ignition, dual coil, freshly rebuilt carbs, floats adjusted to spec, read the carb guide a million times, timming is spot on, valve clearance adjusted, cam chain tenssion adjusted. I did a little trouble shooting...

It's a 78, just rebuilt the carbs with the stock jets an the bike would stumble and back fire so I bought bigger jets, I did a 145 on the main and a 30 of the pilot jet and the same exact problem occurred. I move the needle on notch up and same all the way up and the same, one both down and...

So I played with the idle screw and I got both sides to idle pretty good, so I took it for a 5 minute spin. It ran 90% good, a few back fires here and there but for the most part it was good. So after 5 minutes I started it again and it fired right up, I took it for a 20 minute ride to my...

Ok so I started the bike with the battery and it ran but it was starting to die so I adjusted the jets a little and the idle screw and I managed to get it to idle but at 2,000 rpm.... So I kept playing with the jets and the idle was still high and than I kept hearing a misfire from the left...

Ok so this morning I fired up the bike and it fired right up, the volt meter was reading 14+or- then slowly the idle started to die and the bolts started dropping to 13 then 12, 11, 10, 9 and then it just died. Any ideas what that could be?

I'll check the white wires, and I'll test the voltage once a few hours pass so I have 30 seconds to check. The diagram came from a thread on this forum.
