    277* rephase timing issue?

I am still working on getting things figured out, the bike actually died after that ride and I just now got it running again, college SUCKS, and it was grounding issues elsewhere on the bike. I took the bike out for a ride and the left cylinder went dead on me, I am almost 100% sure that the...

    277* rephase timing issue?

After class today I got out my other timing light (no advance knob or anything) and when I hooked it up and started the bike up, the mark was very close to being between the two "Fire" lines... It is still slightly towards the full advance line. I can tell that the left cylinder is running...

    277* rephase timing issue?

When I said "rotor" I meant "plate". When I hook the timing light up to the other cylinder the mark is no were to be found, I can find the mark if I advance the light 77*, it lines up with the full advance mark. I did install the system by walking through Hugh's writeup, I will go through it...

    277* rephase timing issue?

correct, the mark is at full advance when the pamco rotor is spun all the way counter clockwise. When the rotor is spun clockwise, the timing mark moves to the left of the full advance mark. I followed Hugh's write up on the install very closely, I checked to make sure that the advancer snaps...

    277* rephase timing issue?

This is where the timing mark lines up with the timing light set at 0* and the pamco rotor maxed out in the counterclockwise direction.

    277* rephase timing issue?

Hey guys, I finally got my bike running (sorta). I am having some issues with timing, I have a 1975 with a rephase, pamco rephase ignition, Hugh's cam, and the crank was done at a local machine shop. I just re-installed the whole electronic ignition unit as per Hugh's guide. I will try to...

'75 rephase, Pamco electronic ignition, not working, need diagnostic help :)

I am not sure the exact date, but it was less than two years ago. If you email me back or message me on here we can get something figured out, I would like to maybe perform some diagnostic checks on it myself before sending it back if there are some checks that I can do to see if there is...

'75 rephase, Pamco electronic ignition, not working, need diagnostic help :)

Sorry for the late response, school started back up again and homework has been taking up the majority of my time. Here are the pictures of the electric ignition unit. I have sent THREE emails to Pete over the last two weeks and still no response.

'75 rephase, Pamco electronic ignition, not working, need diagnostic help :)

I traced the wiring, it is all good, there are only three wires that run to each coil from each ignition unit

Yes, it is the 277* pamco, I will snap a pic later tonight when I get home. It is the rephase electronic ignition and the monster green coils from mikes XS

'75 rephase, Pamco electronic ignition, not working, need diagnostic help :)

Hey guys, I have a 1975 XS650 rephase that I am just getting put back together for the spring. I am working through the electrical right now and found that I have no spark on my right cylinder. I checked the plugs, then swapped then, the no-spark stayed with the right cylinder, and the...

I believe I have a dead cylinder (exhaust temps very different)...

Hey guys, I just wanted to throw this out there and see what everyone thought... I have a 1975 xs650, rephase, pamco, pod filters, open exhaust... When I feel the exhaust air coming out of the left cylinder it is hot and puffs out at a constant and pretty quick rate, the right cylinder...

Is there a way to bench test the starter motor? 1975 XS650

I took my power supply and hooked the positive up to the cable coming out of the starter motor, and then touched the negative to the case on the starter (where the bolts go) and it just sparked, no motor spin at all, not even a try. since it sparked I thought that maybe something was messed up...

Is there a way to bench test the starter motor? 1975 XS650

Ok, so here is my issue... when I built this bike I decided I would be macho and have it kick only, well, with the rephase and the bore and new rings and everything I can barely start this bike with the kick starter (when it bucks back it throws me off the bike, there is a huge bruise on the...
