Fried ground wire coming from ignition coils.

Yeah i suppose i mean the starter. I have points on my 77 and ive been reading about the banshee swap on this forum. Im willing to spend a couple hundred on it i guess. It would be nice to have that open space under the seat and go through and simplify the wiring. Or at least go through it so...

Fried ground wire coming from ignition coils.

Some more info... My bike kicks and runs fine, the electric start half works. It sounds like it is grinding and spinning when i use it but it can start the bike sometimes .

Fried ground wire coming from ignition coils.

Came across some exposed wired, i believe its a ground wire. Its coming from my ignition coils... And i THINK its running all the way to my voltage regulator... Removed... And here is the wire in between Any suggestion on how to diagnose? Would a bad regulator cause that burnt wire...

    Replacing key with toggle switch.

Also, is it safe to just cut the power(red) wire from the ignition and seal the end properly and leave it loose inside the headlight housing and then just run a new power wire from the battery(after the fuse and starter) to the new toggle switch? since it will be basically next to the battery.

    Replacing key with toggle switch.

Awesome this helps out i think. So it does actually seem as simple as that. The on position of the spst toggle switch will act as position 1 on the stock key ignition. If i add the blue wire to the toggle switch does that mean the headlight will be on no matter what when the bike is on?

    Replacing key with toggle switch.

I searched and can't come up with a good answer. I simply want to cut the wires from the back of my stock key ignition and run them to a toggle switch so i can throw away my key. I'm leaving everything else where it is, like the stock engine kill switch. is it as simple as just running the...

(BS series) Throttle Seals: Who's done 'em, who needs to?

there is a fuel line that runs between the carbs so i dont think it matters which fuel line you have hooked up. i know this is probably a silly question but you said that you only connected one fuel line but turned both petcocks on. where was the gas coming out exactly?

(BS series) Throttle Seals: Who's done 'em, who needs to?

I'd wait to hear from the other guys first, but i'm pretty sure that a leaky choke plunger could allow extra gas into the airstream so i'm sure it would affect your idle.

(BS series) Throttle Seals: Who's done 'em, who needs to?

You will have to remove the choke shaft also(see pic) Those two claws(with the screws that you loosened) that lift the choke plungers will come off the carbs once you remove the shaft. remember which way they go on the shaft so you dont put them on upside down. they dont work upside down...
