    Help With Miss/Backfire

So I have only had the bike a few weeks and not been on it much at all. When I had taken it for rides when I really got on it, it felt like it would kind of studder at higher speed/rpm. Almost like it wasnt getting enough fuel maybe. I took it out a few days ago and today and noticed that it...

    never-ending build by shotgunjoe

Here it is... mostly just a place for me to post pics of the things I make along the way. I got the bike 2 years ago as a frame. No swingarm, no bolts, no engine... nothing but a frame. It was originally intended to be for my wife, whom is 5'2, with very short legs...if she sees this she'll...

    DNA Springer....Need help please!!!

So I'm building an 81 xs and the last major part I need is a front end. I had my heart set on a DNA springer. I'm building on a budget so this fit the bill perfectly. Upon further research I'm starting to see a ton of negative reviews. I've also seen my fair share of positive reviews as...

Hi all, Newbie here to the forum and in regards to XS650's. Been doing a lot of reading on them in the past few weeks and picked up a project bike this morning. It's an '83 XS650 Heritage that has already most of the "main" stuff done to it - hard tail, Sportser tank, etc. Pretty typical XS...

    Rear Master Cylinder Help

Need a new rear master cylinder for my bike, it is too far gone to rebuild it. Looking at mikesxs I saw the regular master cylinder that I have now along with ones with a bellcrank type pivot on them. What are the differences between these two? Is one better than the other? I will probably go...

    Zinc chain in gas tank?

I recently bought a new gas cap for my project. I have a P-Nut tank from Lowbrow, and it has the British style filler on it and therefore I purchased a gas cap to fit. The cap came with a gold cad plated chain lanyard that is too short for my liking and I would like to use a zinc...

Knucklehead Garage - The Daily Grind

Hey guys - been a lurker here for a while. I generally stay pretty quiet and keep to myself but figured I'd start up a picture thread for my shop. It's more of a hobby/side business for me - but since we opened...we've managed to stay pretty swamped with odd jobs as well as full builds...

    My SX650 Scratch Bobber build

My XS650 Scratch Bobber build HI all, I'm new here. Figured I share XS my build. Tank options. Need a shorty not a sporty!

Fixing to butcher the 74 bike and do the Monster brat kit. You lose the rear tank mount and the stocker would be too long anyways. Don't want to do the sportster tank thing. I saw a boxy xs400 tank and think it would be perfect if it is shorter than a standard tank. Are they?? What...

Bought a bobbed 79 xs650 special about 2 weeks ago. Ive been working on making it right so I can get it on the road for summer. I need a speedo cable and new rear master cylinder. Trying to convert my suzuki s40 into a bobber

I bought a used 2008 suzuki s40. I've done very simple things to clean the bike up so far such as removing the indicators, the badges, the front fender, and the belt guard. I want to remove the rear fender and add a solo seat but am not sure what exactly I need to mount the seat. The rear bolts...
