    Availability of seals

Took the engine out of the '79 tonight. Not planning any major work, but it needs a thorough cleaning, the carbs had to come off for a rebuild anyway, and it just seemed easier to do with the engine out and on a stand. There is a TON of gunk around the front sprocket. I haven't started...

So my project continues...I have finally got it running, sort of (thanks PAMCOPete!) Question about a "fussy first"...

Hi, guys... I have been reading a lot on here, and at the Garage, about XS/TX650 clutches and transmissions, especially the threads in our Tech section here. I am aware of the inherent problems in this clutch and transmission cited in the articles, such as the clutch's propensity to engage...

    Anybody with 15" apes?

I finally got a set of 15" apes from TC Bros, and I'm having the cables made on Monday. Does anybody here run 15's? I'm not sure how much longer I should go with the cables. TC Bros sells a set that are 5 inches over, it looks like I'll need more than that but I could be wrong. Just don't want...

removing the clutch plate Philips head bolts

Okej, so I'am about to remove the clutch plate bolts and springs. But I only succeed in removing one of the clutch plate bolts. The other ones sits to tight. They have Philips heads and I tend to start slipping if trying harder. Tried hitting them a bit, but nooop. Don't want to destroy them...

removing clutch center nut without basket holding tool?

I'm about to replace the bendix gear and spring due to grinding noise. I don't have a special tool (or old welded plates) to hold the clutch basket when unmounting the cente nut. To hold the basket still, is it maybe enough to just step on the rear brake with a gear engaged? Or will I...

Hi, guys... I replaced my bike's front brake lever and perch when I replaced my master cylinder, because they are integrated. The clutch lever and perch are working okay, but the pivot holes in both are a little worn, so I'm expecting arrival of a new lever and perch this afternoon, and will...
