Title kind of says it all.
I'm planning on getting a hardtail with at least a 4'' stretch. I'm looking at both of these companies and see just a slight difference. I would imagine they are both either the same or have little variations.
I'd imagine some ppl on here would be able to tell me...
After asking a ton of questions, and everybody always willing to answer and help, heres mine so far, the questions wont stop though... Just letting u all know.
- apart from fabricating your own hardtails, if you have the skills, gear, space and time there are many options available for add ons
- in no particular order, as I don't endorse any of these products – or rather, my tired old back will handle a half game of rugby or league and is happy...
So I did things a little different with mine. I added 4 inches to the swingarm and brought the top rails down to it to make a rigid. Does anyone thing this was a bad idea ? Will it be strong ? Any safety concerns ?
ok there maybe be a thread on this already but i suck at searching for this stuff on this site, so i hardtailed my frame and plan on using the coventional or stock style chain tensioners but as you all or atleast many of you know the axle plates when you hardtail a bike are thinner than the...
So my welder is a dumb fuck. He welded up my hardtail and it looks great very straight except one problem. He had a piece of pipe exactly 8.5in wide stuck between the axle plates held in place with the axle and nut. Ok seems all good. I get the frame home and knock out the pipe, of course, the...
Hello all, I admit I started off with no introduction....now what kind of greeting is that to a new and unfamiliar online community?! Well I'm here to change that. My name is Logan, and I've dove headfirst into the XS650 world. (not new to motorcycles, just letting that be known). I currently...
im in the process of chopping up a 72xs2, i know there are a few people who dont like this but i bought it as a roller, no body parts really and think id rather hardtail it and restore another thats in nicer shape....anyways i had my mind set on a tc hardtail, but after looking at them the seats...
Well I figured I would start a thread for the actual build.
I'm not aiming for anything fancy. Don't expect this to be a very unique build either. This is my first time doing anything like this and I'm just going for a look I like and that look just so happens to be a very common look...
Uh oh, looks like they did it again. Those terrible Fong Bros went and ruined another one of our beloved xs650's. Just look at that horrible acute triangle for a rear end. Oh, and the overall lack of creativity. Darn them and all their stupid hand made/finished parts. I can't see it, but i...
I finally bought the bike I'm going to use for my first chopper build, a 79 xs650. I decided I'm going with the TC Bro's weld on hardtail... I don't really like the ride height (5 inches), but it's the cheapest and I hear good things about their products. After that, I plan on raking the neck...
I bought this motorcycle for $75 when I was in high school. I never had any idea what I was doing when I worked on it then. A couple of older friends of mine would help me between beers try to make it run, but it never ran well. I tore into the engine winging it the whole time at which point I...
I bought this bike about 2 months ago and just recently found this site and wanted to share what I have done so far and get some feedback. Sorry about the quality, there from my phone.
Just want to introduce myself. My name's Jimmy and this is the first bike build I've done so I'll be picking some brains when I run into snags. These intros are always cheesy and hate doing them. A little about myself, I love anything with motors and love learning new things outside of what I do...
Hi folks,
A few days ago, I saw a guy riding down the highway on a hardtailed sportster. He hit a couple of bumps that almost jarred me off the seat of my pick-up. The poor guy's butt came off the seat and his feet went behind him and all the other drivers and I kinda slowed to a...
Hey guys, I started this over on 650Rider. I thought I would go ahead and move it over here.
I started back in August of 09 with a stock 79 XS650 Special. It wasn't running when I got it, so my first task was to get it running. I cleaned and reinstalled the stock carbs, and after some trying...

Can anybody recommend a good fab shop in the DC/MD/VA area? I just picked up a '80 special last night and I would like to get it hardtailed by somebody that has more welding skill than I do.
