paint

So, ive been researching epoxy primer and i know its what im going to use on the bare metal, but should i use regular primer over the epoxy primer, then sand, then basecoats of color?

Hi all, Is it possible to apply a clearcoat over bare steel? Or clear powdercoat? I like the look of the raw steel tank, fender and frame, I'm wondering if there was an option other than paint that would allow you to give some protection to the raw steel, yet still see it? thanks! Aaron

I'm stripping all the paint off my frame tank etc, got it most of the way done right now; so the question is if i just leave the tank/frame bare metal will that cause problems? I'm going to shoot some clear coat on it when i get the paint all off and leave it thoughts?

There's a technique for painting that might look pretty cool on a tank. Usually you float the paint on water and dip the object to be painted. It's called swirling or marbling if you want to look up how to do it. Very retro look.
