    Cheesehead Powder Coaters and Anodizers

I know there are a few of us from WI on this forum, so I was just wondering who you have used for powder coaters, anodizers , platers. Where are they located. And what kind of price. Is prep included? Maybe we could get a thread going and sticky'd with coaters and anodizers. I have used...

    Photochop request...

So I'm doing a partial restoration of a 1975 xs650b. I don't exactly care that everything is 100% original as this bike is being built for me. I've come to the realization that I'm just not a fan of the star black that was available in 1975. I am, however, a fan of the teal color of the xs1...

    Quick Question About Powder Coating

Hey Everyone, I'm going to drop off my frame and swing arm and other stuff to get powder coated tomorrow... Is it necessary for me to remove the bronze bushings before I take it in? And if I do need to do that, what's the best way? Thanks! .cheftay

4 coats of rattle can - can I use compound or wax?

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could use a compound to polish 4 coats of rattle can. Would wax do it? It just seems like I can't get the finish perfectly smooth with the rattle can. Any suggestions?

    Powder Coating VS Heat Retention

I have heard several differing takes. Some folks say that powder coating engine parts such as heads, cylinders and cases prevents these components from releasing heat. Has anyone here done any real temperature comparisons on painted vs raw vs powder coated motor surfaces ? John

Has anyone bead blasted their wheel assemblies?

Would like to soda, glass bead, media blast my front and rear wheel assemblies and wonder has anyone tried this and which type is best. I don't want to respoke my wheels and am looking for a satin or brushed look for my rims, spokes, and hubs. I have new wheel bearings I was going to install...

    Powder Coating Hubs and Cylinders

Is it safe to powder coat hubs? I know plenty of people do it but you need to heat the parts to about 400+ degrees during the process. I've read that it's hot enough to do something to aluminum hubs and will slightly weaken them. Also, I've read you shouldn't powder coat cylinders because...
