Switching to non-vacuum barb manifolds from JBM (he doesn't drill them for vacuum barbs anymore and I don't feel like drilling my own) can I still use vacuum petcock and switch it over to "prime"? thanks!

From what I have gathered the older bikes had 2 petcocks with a fuel line going to each carb, whereas the newer bikes have only one, and the line T's off(like mine).
Are there advantages to either set up?
this is for the bungs on Hap Jones tanks with the extremely fine 3/8 inch female thread.
Rask Cycle has the male thread petcocks with this thread. They are NOT on the website though, so you have to call.
