This is a custom rear wheel set up that I had a shop put together to put on my xs750 but I think the project is more trouble than it's worth.
I do also have the drum brake set up with rear axle nut.
Testing out the waters for right now
Specs:
- Converted 15" OEM wheel to a H-18x2.15" - 36...
Just about ready to order a new set of spoked wheels for my ’80 Special, but I'm still undecided about the rim widths.
From my research, the following widths appear to be reasonable upgrades for 100/90-19 and 110/90-18 tire sizes:
- 2.15" front and 2.5" rear
- 2.5" on both ends
Are there any...
Seems these are hard to find so I will put a ad out to get ahead of the ball. But I am looking for a rear wheel to fit my bike (found here).
Looking to convert it back to stock. So i will need a 16" - 36 spoke chrome steel wheel. I have all the other fix'ns.
LMK if you have something available...
To start I have a 78"
I started with a stock 19" mag, and now have a 19". Same years, caliper and brake all line up perfect.
That said, the bolts for the caliper (off of the mag wheel) are too long.
Does anyone know what the proper bolt size (more important length) is for a 78-79 fron spoke...
So much info on here, and I'm still confused a tad.
I have a 78' with front and rear disk brakes, with mag's. 19" front and 16" rear. I'm wanting to switch to spokes.
Easy enough fix for the rear. Find a spoke rear drum, and if able get the whole swing arm assembly. Question, what years will...
Hello!
New to the group. Live in Winnipeg. Owner of a 1979 x400F and 1978 xs650 Special.
My plan is to chop and chip away at the 650 this winter. That said I have a question (one of many to come I'm sure)
The Bike (650) currently has mag wheels (both front and rear, both disk.) I'm looking...
Tried swapping my front mag on my 79 chop to a 77 spoked wheel. The rotor and calliper line up good but the speedo drive won't slide in to its holder and there's about half inch of space between the speedo drive and left fork.
Anyone else know anything about this? And remedies?
Hello everyone, I'm writing from italy ... sorry if there are spelling errors.
I'm starting a xs 650 chopper and I was going to take a rigid frame (or TC BROS or LOW BROW) and a set of fork springs. For the front wheel I think fits the original wheel of xs 19 "and possibly only replace the disk...
I've got a 1981 650 with a 16" spokes drum rear wheel. I want an 18" rear with drum.
Does anyone know if I can just get an 18" rim and some 18" spokes for drum brakes from mixes xs, and reuse my drum?
Also will this create clearance issues with my swingarm?
First post here, long time...
