79 xs 650 with clutch pulled in and in gear it will roll back about a foot or 2 then comes to a abrubt stop . its not pulling forward like mis adjusted clutch clutch is disengaging all the way . it rolls back with out resistance that amount then bammm stops . any suggestions thanks

Sorry for my stupidity. So you don't have to use any of that running gear from the old starter motor (that is displayed in the starer gears diagram) if its kick only ? thank you.
