18" to 16" relace question

I have a 1970 rear wheel and I want to relace it to a Mikes 16" rim.

Will the Mikes 36 spoke rim and 16" spokes work on a 70 drum or no?

I don't see why not,as all the rear drums from 70-83 are the same.Hope this helps.
