Anyone know if it is possible to run a 180 rear tire on a stock 16" xs650 mag? I'm not worried about shims for the sprocket and disk as it's going on a hardtail with a jackshaft that is setup for a 200 rear... just want to make sure that the mag will take the 180 and I don't have to max out with a 170 as I've read before... any input is helpful!

Well that wheel is made for a 5.10 130mm tire so I would not go bigger than that.
6" that's about 156mm or 157mm, so maybe a 150mm or 160mm might be safe

As I recall your rim should be within two inches of the tire width for the best tire performance. The right sidewall flex is the important thing. A 180 mm tire is 7 inch tire so the rim should be at least 5 inches wide. A 6-6.5 would be good.
Being a hard tail using any wheel is easy. Just space it centered and run your jackshaft as needed.
Harley wheel are plentyful. The stock disc mags like they use on some Sportsters comes to mind.
