Good question on the spacers. The tank on my XS2 never had them. The spare XS2 tank I bought on E-Bay did have them.

I don't mean to step on the sale, but the spacers were used to make the short 70-72 spacers work on the 1973 tank. They pretty quickly just changed to a taller petcock and did away with the spacer. BTW, the short petcocks were used on other early 70s models such as 1974 TX500.
