Repainted and relined original fuel tank and installed new petcocks but have developed a slight fuel leak around the bolts that attach the petcocks. Is there some type of sealer needed to fix this problem?

I typically use red fiber washers on the bolts.

I've had good luck with copper washers on my XS2.

I make washers from the above thin fibrous material. Don't use any other steel washers or lock washers. An inexpensive one-hole punch makes a perfect M6 hole, then you can use scissors to cut a washer around the hole you punched.

Thank you all for the great advice. The old bolts had a recessed rubber washer incorporated in the contact side of the bolt head. The new petcocks came with a thin metal-fiber washer that just ain’t cutting the mustard. 👍
