Just became the proud second owner of this bike. Owner bought it new. 15,500 miles….I think this is one to keep.

Drained the bad gas and filled the tank to the brim with vinegar.
Petcocks arent flowing any gas even when open, so I don't feel too bad about leaving them in (Plus I have some really clean spares without cracked tubes) Will pop them in the ultrasonic cleaner anyway. The bike has seen a lot of Philips head screwdriver action and found a cracked fin on the cylinder head but on the plus side, with a squirt of starting fluid it fired up immediately!:boxing: Moved about a foot on the center stand when I blipped the throttle. Makes the smoothness of four cylinders seem boring as hell!

Looking at this thread I realize I haven't posted the petcock pics...coming soon? Maybe. Just got a positive Covid test even after being boosted, so I've got some time to crack into this bike. Just ordered new rubber diaphragms for the carbs from JBM industries as the originals were torn. Working on sourcing a master cylinder cap...where are people getting their ss lines? I've gone the route of Hell and Galfer, but don't really want to shell out 100$+ considering I'm out of work for 10 days :/...I saw some on eBay from a seller in NJ but I feel medium about them...Hope everyone is staying healthy.

Prototype replacement air filter using
1/2" upholstery foam
Hot glue
Thread
Not super tidy but it breaths. I'm sure it will be louder without the ribbing of the original paper filter but I'm unsure of any true downside.
Anchored my first stitch to the crosspiece or else it pulled straight through. Thoughts?

The only thing that would maybe be of concern is the type of foam. I know nothing about the foam you are using but be aware that there are basically two types of foam, open cell and closed cell. The open cell breathes and the closed cell wouldn’t. Even if it is an open cell foam the structure looks to be very fine and might inhibit air flow. This is just an example of what’s out there,

Here’s what I did.
