Ebay Auction ends tomorrow night: The Reserve is OFF
1979 Yamaha XS650 Special built as a one-off cafe racer.
The mileage listed is not actual mileage on the frame but is since the build. During the build all the bushings and bearings were replaced, along with wheel bearings, the entire top end was rebuilt. Tires were new then too. The front end, (forks, clip ons, levers, brakes) are all off a late 90s GSXR donor bike. Custom drilled rotor to fit with stock front wheel. Rear modified for 19" rear wheel.
Fiberglass cafe seat pan with lightweight battery tucked in the tail. The speedometer has been molded into the back of the headlight bucket. No tachometer. The comes with two exhaust systems - the one shown is stock headers which are wrapped finish in 12" shorty mufflers. The other is custom Gordon Scott Engineering 2-1 under bike right side exit with stainless cone unit that has never been installed. This was specially designed for this bike and is truly one of a kind. I will try to mock this up this week and take some pictures.
Kick start is still in tact, however electric start fires it on first push almost every time. Stainless steel brake lines. Oil cooler with stainless lines.
Full disclosure - the paint isn't concours quality. It has some light scratches that are difficult to capture on camera but it's not like it is in need of repainting. This bike does not have a title.
CT does not require, nor do they issue titles for vehicles from 1981 or before. The bike is registered and a bill of sale will transfer ownership.
$3990 obo.
