looking to upgrade my '75 xs650 to newer brake setup . have a '78 style caliper .. would the trees and tubes from a 82 xj650 seca fit the xs650 frame and are the caliper mounts the same for the '78 caliper
Sure doesn't look like the brake mounts are the same. hard to tell about bearings and stem length. In general it is easier to swap entire front ends then trying to mix bits and pieces.
It does appear to use the same caliper as a '78 650 but the discs look smaller. Some of the dual disc bikes Yamaha made used smaller discs, I think the same size as used on the 650 rear disc set-up.
