Wanted - 74-80 xs650 special

Looking for a Yamaha XS650, years 74 to 80 for a street tracker project.
Color, condition of body not important.
Must be the "Special" (I really want mag wheels instead of spokes).
Will pay cash for the right bike.
Would like it to be running, but might buy it not running if price is right.

- hi, if youre after a street tracker your possibly better looking for a later standard-the seat is easier to modify and the rear suspension is better configured...alu mag wheels can be used from a special or sr500

I think for what I'm doing, I really want the special. I plan on changing out the seat, suspension, and the rear wheel anyways. If I go with a standard I'll have to buy 2 front wheels, a swingarm, and all the brake components from a special to put a disc on the rear.

almost 2200 miles. I'd be spending $500+ on gas and about $500 on lodging, not including food. I'll keep looking a for one a little more local. Thanks though

If you want a factory rear disc brake equipped XS650,you are limited to a 1978 or 1979 XS650 Special...all other years and models were equipped with a drum rear brake.

1980 XS650 Special also had a disc rear brake...I almost forgot about it.
