never read any of my posts. OK, one day my 35 year old bs 38s are going to need replacing. Just what are my options, what are the best/ easiest/ most economical (not interested in racing carbs ) are there any brand new carbs that I could buy that fit ? (besides Mike's flatsides )

I think its generally accepted that the VM34 kit sold by 650central is the recommended way to go.

The most economical option though, would be simply to have your existing carbs cleaned and rebuilt top to bottom. There are several people on this forum who offer such a service in the "shops" section.
