B Model side stand

I am restoring an XS650 B model with a Vin number of 447 115677 and want to keep it as original as possible. I am confused about the side stand as the one on the bike is different to an original brochure and manual and allows very little protruding to push it down with my foot. I am wondering if it is not the original, however the frame allows for a rubber stopper and the stopper in the manual is on the stand. Attached is a photo of both stands.

I think the one in the brochure is wrong, The one that came on my 75 looks like the one in your pic.
You might try bending the small round rod a bit to get a better shot at it.
I replaced the one on my 75 with one from an 82 Seca. I needed to bend it a bit but now the bike stands up straighter and is less apt to fall over.

Above shows 74-75 stand, like in your brochure.

This is the 76 stand, like on your bike.

My guess is you do not have the original stand.
I have the 76 stand, it works good for me, maybe you just need to bend the arm that sticks out to where you can get your toe on it.
