Battery 4/8 cell

I am looking at getting a Ballistic battery. From what I have read if I run kick only I can get away with a 4 cell and 8 cell if I plan on running a starter. Did I understand that right? Also is there a cheaper company to go with that also has close to the same dimensions?

Can't answer the kick only four cell, but XSLeo has recommended the eight cell so I wouldn't be scared to buy one.
