Battery tray

I tried using the search facility but with no luck does the battery tray lift out the top of the frame? I am going to be fitting a pma system to my 78 roadster and will need to fit the new reg/rectifier to the bottom of the tray so thought I would do some research before the kit arrives.

No it comes out the side but it takes some patience and maneuvering

Helps to remove the CDI box if you have one too. You probably don’t since it’s a 78.

Yes, getting that battery box out is one of the 650's "Rubic Cubes", lol.

Lol that depends on how you end up flipping and contorting it.

I don't recall which side it comes out. I do remember throwing the towel in and just removing the rear wheel and inner plastic fender. Then it comes out the back easy, lol.
