I recently purchased a 1980 special and after dragging my feet on what route to take with the electrical setup I finally started my winter project.

Today I installed the Hugh’s Handbuilt PMA setup with a capacitor. As well as installing the eBay hydraulic clutch.

Instead of cramming all the wiring into a false oil tank I went a different route and purchased a cheap Fire extinguisher, and after some minor modifications mounted it up and tucked everything nicely.

I’m now moving forward with a jockey shift build I’ve been contemplating.

Any criticism and ideas are welcome, I’d like to know what people think.

I would mount the regulator in the open because it needs good air flow to prevent overheating and destruction. All excess current made by the PMA is dissipated into the heatsink on the regulator. Think 200 watt light bulb.

I wasn't sure if the underside of the seat as far back as I could fit it would be good enough. It has nothing touching it or really covering it. where do you suggest I put it?
