i was able to use these gauges from work .the bores were in good shape not out of round and very little taper . the heads were not bad alot of brushwork .i hand lapped the valves and they sealed when i filled with kerosene .i reused the pistons they were in good enough shape.i used easy off and scotchbrite to get them clean.

Excellent work WB58. You obviously have the knowledge and skill to do a proper hone/cross-hatch. Please keep us posted.

hears the gas tank ,petcock, and old gas cap seal witch reminds me of an old girlfriend for some reason.

Pro........It better to have one thread if only so the guys helping out are familiar with what has, and is, going on.............

Con.......information gets lost in long threads and chances are no one is going to read a 100 page thread sifting through all the irrelevant posts looking for specific information

The solution for others, and especially yourself, is to save the page with those tip bits, (as you'll find there will be a lot of information posted that isn't relevant right now but will be), through a link, then post the link back into your first post.......... Posting the link into your first post means the information is readily available and you don't have to do massive searches, or if there were lots of threads, searching for that thread.

Re-posting links can also save you a lot of time when having to ask a question........ then to wait for an answer
