BS38 Tuning Issue

I always replace the clutch springs on these with some aftermarket, slightly more heavy duty type. They all seem to need it. I'd start with just that before replacing the whole clutch. Springs are cheap ($10 to $20). If you're ordering parts from 650Central, talk to him about them. He offers 3 "flavors", mild, medium, and really stiff. Explain your issues and your mods, and he'll recommend which springs should suit you.

So back to the BS38’s.... I’d like to report that after doing most of what was suggested on here, the right side carb seems to be running better and the mix screw is doing its job again. I’m able to actually stall out the right side again by leaning the mix screw in. I’m not sure which thing I did actually fixed the problem, but here’s what I did....
-re-cleaned the carbs
-cleaned the slides & carb body around them
-installed new needle jet o-rings
-installed new float bowl gaskets
-re-checked float height
-installed new mix screws with 1.3 x 2.5 o-rings (the 1.5 x 3 didn’t fit)
-re-tightened all screws around the enricher gaskets
-re-set ignition timing
-synced carbs
-adjusted mix screws

I’m not exactly sure what fixed the mix screw issue but it’s fixed and the right side seems to be purring right along with the left side now. Thanks everyone
