DSCF1119.JPG a few months back a mate lost everything in a fire ,only had the clothes he stood up in and a old van to drive , bloke driving past with hay on the back had the hay catch fire and he tossed it off trying to save the ute but set alight the country around him , the mate was in town at the time and arrived back to find his place on fire , lost his caravan he lived in , his dog and nine bikes, one of which had been his grandfathers , no xs650 but 2 xs1100s ,1 with a chair and a kaw mac3 with a chair he use to race , even the plastic water tank melted , this was just before the big fires down sth started (luckily up in nth qld we missed out on them) but the good news is a shed company donated a double garage (shed) with the concrete slab and a local builder is putting it up for him for free , its great the whole community jumped in to help in their own ways .. goes to show theres still a lot of good people out there

he was lucky in a way 2 of his bikes were stored off the property though they would have been moved there within another day or 2, 1 was a honda 600 and the other a suz 750 .. the last of the carbie models.. they both need work though .. the local pub put him up for a week free and his luck changed as on the 1st fri nite in the pub he won $3500 on jag the joke , which is a kind of raffle that only goes off every few months and some other friends have put him up for the last few months as the sheds being arranged and put up .. what really got him upset though was his dog being burnt to death as it was tied up to the cvan , people tried to save it but the fire was to bad by the time they got there... hopefully should have a shed warming party in a couple of weeks (but not the burnt kind):cheers::cheers:
