I feel like it's a silly question but when I searched anything involving this question I couldn't find any in past posts, I would drain the oil out first, But I need to make an oil catch for my race bike and want to at least have it bolt to 2 or 3 bolts if possible.

Drain the gas out of the carbs too, but yeah, no problem.

Awesome! Thanks Easter!. Would you say there is a certain amount of time it can be upside down or laying at an angle? It won't " mess with the insides" will it? It doesn't really tell you this in the manual hahaha

Having it upside down won't do anything as long as fluids are drained. If you don't drain things your likely to spill gas, and possibly have oil seep past the rings causing smoke on start up.

Engine oil will come out the breather.. No might about it.

Prolonged upside down position would put all the oil sump sludge on the now roof trying to drip with the oil. Down “UP” into your clean areas. I wouldn’t want that gritty sludge migrating towards the crankshaft and rods? Head?
Are you going to disassemble the cases ? No concern then ..
why are you inverting your engine ? Curious

I will definitely have it sit for a few days with all fluids draining out, it won't be upside down very long, more at an angle than 100% upside down. I need to just check clearance measurements for my oil catch pan on the race bike build. I also need to see if any other bolts down there need to be lock wired.

Is this engine running right now? If so just warn it up good and drain oil while hot and pull both drain plugs and let it sit say over night with plugs out. Also might suggest removing the cover for the sump oil filter and let that drain overnight too.
