Can the rotor side crankshaft bearing be fitted wrong way round?

I built up the crank case assemblies on 2 engines last year then left them alone. Coming back to them I can't for the life of me recall seeing the scribe line on the rotor side bearing aligned to the crankcase joint face. I know the bearings were seated on the pins properly and the crankcase halves bolted up nicely but I now wonder if the bearing outer race had been fitted to the bearing inner race/cage/rollers on the crank the right way round before I dropped it into place. (Self doubt is great, isn't it?)

So my questions are:

1. Can the outer race be fitted to the inner race with the scribe line facing the crank?

2. If it can be and the crank will still drop into place in the crankcase half, will the oil feed to this bearing now be cut off?

Worried!

Hey I looked at an open crank and yes the shell can be placed backwards but......... It doesn't matter. The bearing shell is thoughtfully drilled with TWO oil orifices, so one of the two is in the right place even if the shell is on "backwards". HTH
