Putting a TC Brothers capacitor on 81 XS650 with PAMCO and battery delete for kick-only. It's a 70s style custom chopper, and I'm cool with the 70s "let everyone see all the guts" approach, but the medium bright blue of the capacitor really clashes with paint.

Does anyone have advice or experience with painting the capacitor? I have no idea how hot the capacitor may get, is heat an issue? I was thinking that hitting it with Rust-oleum BBQ Grill paint in silver or black would do the trick.

Hi Krypto,
mount the capacitor inside a loose-fitting mailing tube or other cylindrical cover painted in the colour of your choice.
Or go back to using a battery, they are black and they work better, too.

I see no problem problem painting the capacitor black. Avoid the lugs area. Heed the mounting and orientation instructions. Let air get to it.

mine never gets hot, it doesnt seem to really need to be in the open air. it has been in a box under my seat for the past 4 years.
