Have two new tcbros carbs any input lots of backfire wtf

Here currently on the forum with a barn find --- is another enthusiast his backfire one side only ...seems to be

In my view as first assumption it is not necessary.
One can spray over fluids fex starter fluid. on the intake side listen if the rev changes
If so a re tightening and using gasket chemicals can seal it up.
Some of the fasteners are a bit tricky to get to fex Boots to cylinder on inside.
Hose clamps to check
I would be surprised if the boots in themselves are causing a major misfiring.
I Would suspect a re tightening does it.
But New parts are of Course always new parts.
Depending on bike and other things.
New carburetors can have a "Multipurpose " setting than can need something else.
No expert on that but Bigger jets perhaps

Thanks the old clamping flange pretty much suck can’t get an even tightening they have slits in them don’t think they will tighten good enough

Go here.www,amckayltd/vm34-36.pdf. Make sure slides are installed with cutaway facing the rear.
Right, OE boots for BS34 carbs will work with your VM34s, but the OE clamps will not close up sufficiently because the VM34 spigot is smaller. Good hose clamps will get the job done.

BTW from what I've seen TC Bros baseline the carbs pretty well. You'll find that pilot jets are smaller than what I recommended in the VM CarbGuide. That's because TC Bros use a richer 2.0 slide, which calls for leaner PJs.
