Afternoon, I am baffled, checked my manual and it does not even mention it.(clymer) what is the function of the tube that connects the peacock to the carb joint do and is it necessary? Thanks.

Hello from CT. If there are two hoses one should be for fuel, the other should be the vacuum hose
Its a vacuum hose, it turns the petcock on and off. Fuel should only flow when the motor is running and producing vacuum (in the on position). Yes it is necessary.
