Hello all.

I am rebuilding a set of 78 xs650 38mm carbs. The PO has been in them, so I would like to go back to stock. I am having a hard time finding the parts online. I have looked up the part numbers I need but most searches take me to eBay. What site can I get good-quality parts from?

Thanks for the help.

Good places for OEM stuff....

https://www.partshark.com/oemparts/partsearch/suzuki?partsearch=13651-51010

OEM and Aftermarket carb bits.

Aftermarket....

https://www.cruzinimage.net/
https://yamahaxs650.com/
https://sumorubber.com/
https://www.xs650direct.com/
https://www.georgefixs.com/yamaha/

Lastly..... https://www.mikesxs.net/

Mikes is hit and miss... some of it's good stuff, some of it's crap. Best thing to do is start a build thread and ask there before ordering.
Oh... and welcome to the nuthouse. :laugh2:

If you click the Tech button you'll find a link to the XS650 Garage USA Carb Guide, which contains a list of components for every variation of every carb found on XS650s sold in the US market. Once you know what brass you need you'll have a lot of vendors to choose from. Niche Cycle Supply is probably my favorite. They sell both repop (not recommended!) and genuine Mikuni jets at very good prices. If you need diaphragms, JBM Industries is the go-to source.

Rebuild kits aren't recommended. Many times the included jets are the wrong size and they're aftermarket anyway so no guarantee they'll flow correctly. There are two o-rings in your carbs but they don't come in the rebuild kits. There's one on the needle jet and one on the mix screw. We've determined the sizes to be 1mm x 4mm for the needle jet and 1.3mm x 2.5mm for the mix screw. Float needle and seat assemblies are best sourced right from Yamaha. The quality on aftermarket ones is hit and miss, some leaking right out of the box.

Some handy seal, gasket, other parts, sizes and vendors thread https://www.xs650.com/threads/51957
That thread is now in Tech... where it belongs.

Good that it is in there. Problem is if your looking for carb parts it is not there. Its under "miscellaneous"

yes i know we can't have everything but i see the tech menu getting cluttered with doubled up information, and within the sections, not being althabetical order, and thread headings sometimes not reflecting what is prominent in the posts it can be confusing.

You could start a PM with all the guru's invited. They could go through Tech and decide what needs to go and what needs moving?

Fwiw, it winding up in "Miscellaneous" is most likely my fault. To be fair though, there's a lot more than just carb stuff in there.
