Hi All,

In the process of building my first bobber and what an experiance it has been. Last night I was dreaming about the chain drive and using a chain tensioner. Now I get the purpose of this is to take up the "slack." I also get that when building a rigid frame motorcycle that the chain shouldn't have a ton of slack to begin with and that the tensioner is just to help.

So...if on the Gas the tensioner takes up the slack at the bottom; when off the gas and using the engine to slow down, what should be done with the slack that occurs at the top? This would happen because the tensioner located below would not be effective. So would a tensioner located above to take the slack up when off the gas using the engine to slow down be effective or suggested or since number one there isn't a whole lot of "slack" to take up to begin with it wouldn't matter?

See below example...I made it quickly over lunch, the "slack" I am asking about is obviously exagerated. Thank you all in advance.
