Sorry if this has been suggested before, but I found this to be an effective solution to my noisy tensioner:

It's a washer with a neoprene seal used to seal up bolt heads exposed to the elements to make them water tight. I was looking for a copper or teflon washer in my miscellaneous odds and sods drawer and found a bunch of these. It went over the shaft of the tensioner pin with a slight sliding fit. Being neoprene, it is quite oil and temperature tolerant. Anyway, when it finally goes, replacing it with another will be a quick and easy job. I'm not sure where I got these but I'd be surprised if Lowe's or Home Depot didn't have them for sale in quantities to do you for the rest of your life. I installed mine rubber toward the spring. It may work, maybe even better, the other way around.

EDIT: Man, that Mike's damper looks incredibly poorly made in comparison.
