I can help you with the sissy bar off my '79 Special, but I'm keeping the rack.

A swap would work, I need the left switch assembly or a headlight can and mounting ears.

I have a luggage rack with the adjustable sissy bar. It will need to be re-chromed, unless you can strip and paint it?

Just some advise here. Make sure you get one for an 1980+. Few things changed on the xs650 over the years, but the rear frame loop and mounting points did.

Does anyone know definitively whether or not this combo that is shown mounted on a 79 Special will mount onto my 80 Special?

Jerm if it is bolted to a special frame it shouldn't be a problem for you.
