A piece of angle is glassed into the bottom of the seat and then bolts into the cross piece behind where the original battery box sat.

I'm going to have mine out tonight for the first time in about a month... I bought a "new" car and doing the basic tune-up stuff has kept me busy. Where are you in PA? If you're near Philly there is a big bike night tonight in Lansdale, Visual Impact said he's probably going to have a new XS out there tonight!
