Crankcase cover help

Hi there!

Me and my dad have a 80 xs650, and I busted the right-hand side crank case cover.

I've been looking online but can't find a straight answer nor a cover specifically for the 1980 model.

I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me if a 79 would fit as a replacement?

Yes, the 79 will fit. As far as I know you could go all the way back to a 72-73 cover.
Have a look here. 30 bucks shipped is not bad. I know it looks pretty rough, but it will clean up just fine with a little elbow grease.

Personally, I like the '81 and later covers with the oil site glass. Since you need to buy one anyway, I'd watch for one of those .....
