Attached are pics of my current process on the '83 bobber. Finally got some parts in from TcBros and got to do some cutting and grinding! 3 hours later she is torn down. Need to make 2 more cuts on the bottom to get the 3/4 inch required for the rear frame but ran out of cut discs, damn flimsy things lol. Will update as I get more done. output.jpg IMG_20181231_110417072.jpg IMG_20181231_121248528.jpg IMG_20181231_131118624.jpg

Wammo in the tank fixed with weld and bondo to get it nice and smooth, 4 coats of primer on ready for paint. Frame has everything welded on. Entire frame has all the paint removed with a wire wheel. Used some bondo where the 2 pieces are welded together to smooth that part out since its the most visible. Only welder available is mig so its been fun removing all the damn spatter. Tomorrow is primer for the frame and paint for the tank! Finally starting to come together!

Questions, did you have the motor bolted in place before you welded on the hard tail section? Was that rear fender swingarm mounted? And what type and dimensions was the fender assuming stock tire size?

The motor was not bolted in when the hardtail was welded. I just followed the directions TCBros gave with it. The rear fender is mounted on the lower crossbar and welded to the sissy bar which is mounted to the hardtail that has bolt holes already in it. The rear fender is also from TCBros, its their 5 inch ribber bobber fender. Not sure if the tire is stock size or not since the guy that had it before has already some work on it.

I didnt remember to say I was talking about the previous setup. I'm going that route and just trying to get things going in my head.

Ah, okay. Yes the rear fender was mounted to the top of the swing arms. But he only had it mounted there so it would pivot about an inch. I would recommend mounting it in at least 1 more position. The rear fender was a 7 inch. I still couldn't tell you if the tire is stock size or not, I'm coming up fairly blank on google for the stock tire size. It is just a bit wider than my 5 inch rear fender, if i had to guess I would say its a 130 rear tire.
