Hi all - I have the attached speedometer/Tachometer that came off a 2015 Kawasaki 650 Versys. Couple of questions:

A) Will I be able to get the speedometer working since the tire size is 18" and the Kawi is 17"? If not, what is required to get it working?
B) What type sensors/adaptors etc. I need to buy? Has anyone done this mod? Thanks in advance.

👆 What he said.
I had a crap time trying to retro-fit some modern Honda kit to my ‘stoneage’ XS650. Ended up buying and installing a full Motogadget system. The ‘newage’ after market digital kit allows for adjusting parameters for all wheel / tyre options. More money but less hassle.

I just bought a cheap Chinese digital: speedo, tacho, idiot lights etc. It came with a sensor. Just a matter of making bracketry for both. It works OK.

Thank you all for your feedback. So basically, to get the speedo meter up and running (from Mechanical to Electrical) will the below part help? This should give the proper reading or speed output, even though the XS has 18" tire size versus the Kawi's 17", correct?

If I'm correct and that's a canbus instrument, it will only really be compatible with the ECU from the bike it was built for.

If the wheel size differs from the original bike the speedo came from it will not read correctly.
Also You will need the sensors and electrical patch circuits from the donor bike.
Aftermarket ones have a calibration function to allow for differing wheel & tire sizes (Circumference).
