What is the length of the Pan Head Screw (98580-06020-00) that secures the Stopper Plate which holds Starter Gear #2 (connected to long Starter Shaft) on right side of engine?

I broke mine off recently and plan to tap a new hole. Using a bolt/screw extractor was a complete disaster.... (no images of that - too graphic).

By the part number, it's a 6 MM screw 20 MM long. The middle part of the part number is key. Standard hardware is coded this way on all Yamahas. The first 2 digits are the diameter, the last 3 are the length.

The first 5 break down like this: First 3 digits are hardware type, nut, bolt, screw, The next digit is the material code (steel, stainless, ) and the last digit is the surface finish spec, plain, cadmium plated, zinc plated, manganese phosphate, etc. It's in the forward section of the parts manuals on all Yamahas if you want to study how the different parts break down. If the middle 5 numbers don't compute with what you are looking at, it is possible it is a special fastener and not standard hardware.
